The Almshouses
Our Almshouses provide tranquil and secure accommodation for people living within a five mile radius of Barnstaple who are in genuine need. In exceptional circumstances applications may be accepted from those who have left the area but wish to return for family reasons.

We have one onsite Caretaker on one site, however, there is no healthcare provision and Residents must be able to live independently in the accommodation.

Living in an Almshouse community is peaceful and rewarding, however, it does not suit everyone.  Before making an application we recommend that you read our Residents Handbook which provides all the information that you will need.

Making an application
If you would like to proceed with an application please download our Application Form and return it by post to our Estate Manager. All applications are considered by the trustees and if a candidate is suitable will be invited for an interview.
